The grave maker says that he was born in 1851, however he was enumerated in the 1850 U.S. census. Will died at his son, John McClanahan's home after losing his Roseburg (Oregon) home in a fire. His death was attributed to the shock and excitement of the fire.
He was the husband of Mary Caroline Nelson McClanahan.
