"Frank" was born Adam Franklin McClanahand. His half-brother, Will spelled the surname "McClanahan" and was most likely the one who placed Frank's gravemaker with the alternate spelling. His gravemarker denotes his birth year as 1861, however he was enumerated as a four-year old child in the 1860 census rolls.
