Reverend Alfred Powell was a pioneer of 1851 and help settle Linn County, Oregon. He was born 10 July 1810 in Xenia, Greene, Ohio according to his Donation Land Claim and died 18 December 1881 in Linn County, Oregon. His tombstone simply states "Gone Home" with a finger pointing straight to heaven.
